About the Artist

about the artist

Hey there! Welcome to my design studio! I’m Sarell (suh – rell), an aspiring furniture designer and interior decorator. I love earth tones. When it comes to many things in life, I’m very hesitant to step outside of my comfort zone. Although, when it comes to my passions … I dive in head first.

Discovering My Style

My purpose as an artist is to create. It took me a very long time to realize that. I’ve always felt like the oddball in the crowd, and felt that my ideas weren’t good enough. I had to really delve deep inside of myself to figure things out. I have a weird style, and I’ve learned to roll with it. The trends you see in my work may be weird,  it may have a peculiar sense of beauty, but most importantly it is a reflection of me. To learn more about my journey, read my post on My Struggles as an Artist.

I was really drawn to working with my hands. It was more about using my body as the tool and having a direct relationship with the material.

My Future as an Artist

My future as an artist is to build a career as a furniture designer, and interior decorator. Of course, I would love to have my own studio space someday. Another dream of mine, is to start my own business selling my artwork, creating furniture, and designing homes.

In all of my work, I think about the idea of cultivation, and think of the work as growing and developing into whatever it will become.

What to Expect

I’m not sure where my career will take me, but I’m hoping that this platform is a great start. I created this platform as a portfolio of my work as an artist, while adding a personal touch. On this platform, you should expect to see blog posts about my artwork and lifestyle, YouTube videos demonstrating my work (subscribe here!), as well as a place to shop my merchandise, which is coming soon!

The true meaning of happiness is knowing that you set out to accomplish your biggest aspirations while staying true to yourself. You never know what opportunities can bloom from seeds you plant. Believe in your art, and believe in yourself. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I hope that you were able to learn a little bit about me.
